Kevin Coats

I am an experienced real estate broker from Raleigh, North Carolina. I have worked in both commercial and residential real estate in Raleigh and Charlotte, North Carolina.

After high school, I earned a B.A. in communications from Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC. 

I started my real estate career in 2001 when I joined York Simpson Underwood, a well-known brokerage firm in Raleigh, NC.  As a broker associate, I was awarded “Rookie of the Year” for achieving the highest sales volume during my first year in business. Utilizing the knowledge I gained at YSU, I started my own business in 2003, Featured Properties.

Based in Raleigh, Featured Properties was a boutique real estate brokerage firm offering a full line of residential and commercial real estate services and support. I was the broker/owner and employed a small staff of junior brokers. I assisted in the sell-out of a large commercial development, Caraleigh Mills, which was the conversion of an old textile (cotton) mill into luxury condominiums.  Featured Properties was primarily focused on residential brokerage for the remainder of its existence.  In 2014, I joined the family company, Coats Custom Homes, to run the construction and remodeling divisions.  Much of the work during this time was speculative in nature. Coats Custom Homes purchased existing homes, then performed a full renovation, with the end result to resell the property once all construction was complete. 

I currently work for Coats Custom Homes in Charlotte, NC.
